Welcome to Crackin
Crackin is an educational platform dedicated to cracks in teeth, offering a scientific and professional journey through diagnosis, management, and treatment, supported by courses, online courses, articles, and books.
A Dedicated Life to Cracks
Based on frequent encounters with tooth cracks during restorative treatments, my work focuses on understanding why cracks occur and how to detect them early. Through laboratory research and microscopic studies, the aim is to prevent cracks from initiating and to halt their progression. These findings are shared through publications and educational courses, providing practical insights for colleagues.

A Newly Identified Enamel Crack: Internal Craze Lines
Through microscopic study, a newly identified enamel feature termed the internal craze line was identified and distinguished from traditional craze lines. Using stereo-microscopic and high-magnification intraoral examination, internal craze lines were found to originate at the dentin–enamel junction but terminate within the enamel, unlike traditional craze lines, which extend to the enamel surface and can be stained. Recognizing this distinction improves diagnostic accuracy and has important clinical implications for understanding crack behavior, risk assessment, and treatment planning.
About Crackin
Crackin is a personal project born out of a passion for tooth cracks and clinical research by Masoud Hassanzadeh, a dentist. Based in the Netherlands, the project aims to share research findings on tooth cracks through publications, educational courses, and clinical experience. You are welcome to get in touch via the contact page to ask questions, share your cases, or request coaching on the diagnosis and treatment of cracked teeth.
